About Bantoo Sehgal:
Bantoo Sehgal, M.D., is a Board-Certified Orthopedic Surgeon, Fellowship-trained in Sports Medicine, and holds a Subspecialty Certificate in Orthopedic Sports Medicine. He specializes in treating orthopedic conditions of the shoulder, hip, and knee, with expertise in joint preservation, arthroscopic reconstruction surgery, and regenerative therapies. Dr. Sehgal is a recognized authority in his field, frequently speaking at renowned industry events and actively participating in several leading medical associations. His mission is to help patients of all ages stay active and maintain the quality of life they deserve.

Background:
As a child, Dr. Sehgal spent a significant amount of time in and out of hospitals, deeply admiring the dedication of the physicians who cared for him. Their commitment inspired him to pursue a career in medicine. Orthopedics, in particular, stood out to him as one of the few fields that offers patients the opportunity to restore their quality of life. He chose to specialize in sports medicine because it allows him to combine his passion for technology with his desire to use advanced, minimally invasive techniques to enhance patient care.

Dr. Sehgal earned his medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine. He then conducted orthopedic research at the esteemed New York University Hospital for Joint Diseases before completing both his internship and orthopedic surgery residency at New York Medical College – St. Vincent's Hospital Manhattan. Further honing his expertise in sports medicine, he completed a fellowship at Kaiser Permanente Orange County in Irvine, California. He also holds a Subspecialty Certificate in Orthopedic Sports Medicine (CAQ), a prestigious distinction granted to surgeons with extensive training, experience, and contributions in the field.

Expertise & Innovations:
Dr. Sehgal integrates the latest advancements in medicine and technology into his practice, employing innovative techniques to treat conditions of the shoulder, hip, and knee. As an expert in ACL reconstruction, Dr. Sehgal is skilled in a range of surgical techniques customized to meet the unique needs of each patient. He is also passionate about joint preservation and is trained in numerous advanced cartilage restoration procedures.

Dr. Sehgal has performed hundreds of arthroscopic rotator cuff repair surgeries, often utilizing regenerative medicine to adjunct and accelerate the recovery process.

He trained under an internationally renowned hip arthroscopist and has published studies on the treatment of femoroacetabular impingement (FAI).

Understanding that not all conditions of the shoulder, hip, and knee can be repaired or reconstructed, Dr. Sehgal leverages his expertise in technology to enhance joint replacement procedures. He utilizes imaging-based, patient-specific templating and robot-assisted techniques to ensure a precise fit and minimize surgery time. He has extensive training in the direct anterior approach for hip replacement, offering a minimally invasive alternative to traditional hip surgery with a faster recovery time.

Despite having over 20 years of experience in his field, Dr. Sehgal acknowledges the rapid advancements in medical technology and routinely participates in specialty training with industry leaders to remain at the forefront of orthopedic innovation. It is clear to his patients that this is his passion and calling in life.

Personalized Care & Patient-Centered Approach:
Dr. Sehgal cares for a diverse range of patients, from young elite athletes and professional adult athletes to laborers, weekend warriors, and elderly individuals. He deeply understands the unique challenges each patient faces and is dedicated to providing compassionate care. By tailoring treatment plans to meet the specific needs of every individual, Dr. Sehgal’s goal is to help patients recover as quickly as possible, allowing them to return to the activities they love and improve their overall quality of life.
